Founded by siblings Terry and Angie Cockrem, Erté Mae is a fresh take on one of the oldest trades on earth. Our collections are created here in Australia using a combination of artistic practice, traditional techniques and cutting edge innovations, melded together to create timeless pieces designed to become heirlooms.
TERRY
Master Jeweller, Co-Founder
Terry is a natural who has had the good fortune of being consistently supported in refining his trade since he first set foot in a jewellery workshop as a 14 year old kid.
With the encouragement of his first mentor and high school teacher Bruce, he went on to study Fine Arts (Gold and Silversmithing) at RMIT, followed by an apprenticeship and various short courses. His first business saw him designing and making thousands of rings. This vast body of work pushed his skills further than he imagined and coupled with a desire to pass on his knowledge lead to the establishment of The Jewellers Hub.
Inspired by the Art Deco aesthetic Terry produces a trademark geometric style designed to be admired from every angle. His work is now recognised throughout the world.
ANGIE
Co-Founder
From the Erté Mae studio in the Dandenong Ranges Angie co-ordinates and oversees everything from design approval to ensuring you receive your ring on time.
Angie’s wide ranging skill set complements Terry’s experience beautifully. When the two come together the flow creates an abundance of minty magic.
Angie’s work experience includes kinesiologist, building biologist, cafe owner, nursery hand, proof reader, fruit & veggie shop assistant and Mum. She’s picked up many valuable gems along the way. These combined with absolute integrity and honesty underpin the smooth running of Erté Mae.
