Daily Care
To preserve the lustre of your platinum or gold jewellery, we recommend that you remove your jewellery when engaging in the following activities:
- Household and outdoor chores (cleaning, gardening etc)
- Showering, bathing or swimming in pools, hot tubs, hot springs or the ocean
- Applying lotion, sunscreen, hair products, perfumes and other cosmetics
- Exercising at the gym or during contact sports
- Preparing meals
How to Clean Gold and Platinum Jewellery
Ideally, for all rings, excluding those set with emeralds, we recommend you clean your ring using an ultrasonic bath. Alternatively, you may follow the below steps:
- Put a small amount of mild detergent and hot water into a bowl and place you jewellery in it. Ensure it’s in a secure location, ie. not on the rim of the sink where a piece may slip down the drain.
- Allow it to sit for a couple of minutes then use a pair of tweezers to remove your jewellery from the bowl.
- Gently clean behind the setting and in between crevices with a soft bristle brush to remove any debris.
- Rinse well, pat dry and polish your gold or platinum jewellery using the included polishing cloth.
Life Long Care
- Clean your jewellery often; lotions, soaps and skin oils build up and alter the optical properties of diamonds and gemstones, causing them to look dull.
- For security, keep your Laboratory Report & Certificate of Authenticity in a safe location, separate from your jewellery.
- Treat each piece as if it is the family heirloom it’s destined to become.
